Types of Editing

If you’ve Googled “types of editing” you likely saw articles listing the 4 types of editing, 6 types of editing, and even up to the 9 types of editing! This can be overwhelming and confusing for those outside the business. Most projects don’t require all that editing and because each project is unique, so are their editing needs. To help clarify the two types of editing that Copy & Cream provides, I will use a simple 4 Types of Editing structure example.

It should be noted that this structure is best suited to editing books (though not all books will need this extensive amount of editing) and that most business-related projects only require copyediting or proofreading-level edits.
